Releases Solo Album After 3 Decades

Friday October 2nd, 2009 marks the official release of the first solo album, "Heartsongs", from Sherman Sheldon, one of Victoria's premier guitarist/singers.  A release party will be open to the public at the Paisley Restaurant - 880 Esquimalt Rd. Victoria, BC from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

After more than 30 years of playing guitar, writing arrangements and singing backup for other artists Sheldon, the former lead guitarist for Valdy, has put together an album that features his amazing ability on the guitar blended with a beautiful vocal sound.

The pre-release market testing of this album has received rave reviews, reports Bob Nelson of Nelson's Music (the producers of the album). Feedback has been positive very positve with comments like: "I loved the creative touches you put on the album"; "The variety of styles is wonderful and makes the album a joy to listen to"; "We put the CD in our car stereo on our last vacation and listened to it over and over without getting bored." 

The public is invited to drop in at the Paisley Restaurant on Friday evening to meet Sherman, talk to him about his inspiration for this album, the process he went through to record it and have him sign their copies of the album, and hear him play with bandmate, Dave Gallant from the Blue Moon Band.

$3.00 from the sale of each "Heartsongs" CD will be donated to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
